This class is of particular use to agents who advise clients about financial products but is useful and proven of interest for both personal and commercial agents, as well as financial agents to build a foundation for their client.

Learning Objectives

  • Differentiate Medicare and Medicaid in terms of eligibility, benefits, funding, and limitations.
  • Understanding the basics of Medicare Parts A, B, C, D.
  • The students will understand how the LTC policy works. Custodial care will be discussed as well as acute and chronic differences.
  • Explain what Medicare does not cover, particularly regarding long-term care services.
  • Describe Medicaid’s role as the primary payer of long-term care in the U.S.
  • Understand how long-term care costs impact retirement, families, and assets.
  • Long- Term Care policy regarding a monthly benefit, an elimination period, levels of care, partnership program and Hybrid policies.
