The IIANC Governmental Affairs Program works to ensure that the regulations governing independent
insurance agents are fair and not burdensome.

Whatever your personal partisan or ideological disposition, it’s simply true that to be an effective
advocate on behalf of you and every independent insurance agent in North Carolina, IIANC must have
strong relationships with every state official who has a hand in making the public policy that impacts the
bottom line of your agency as well as your own personal prosperity.

We count on IIANC members to be just like the official state dog of North Carolina: The Plott Hound.
Originally bred in Western NC in the 1750’s (and one of only four breeds native to the United States), the
Plott Hound is known for being ‘extremely loyal, bold, fearless, and always alert.’
